The MYCN gene is a member of the MYC family and encodes N-Myc, a protein with a basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) domain. This protein is located in the nucleus and must dimerize with another bHLH protein in order to bind DNA. Amplification of MYCN is associated with a variety of tumors, most notably neuroblastomas (provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008).
Rabbit anti Human N-Myc antibody detects a band of 50 kDa. The antibody has been extensively validated for western blotting using whole cell lysates.
