Rabbit anti MEK 1 (pSer221) antibody
recognizes MAPK/ERK kinase 1 (MEK 1), also known as dual specificity mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 1, MAP kinase kinase 1 (MAPKK 1) and ERK activator kinase 1, when phosphorylated at serine 221.
MEK 1 is an integral component of the MAP kinase cascade that regulates cell growth and differentiation, and may also play a role in brain synaptic plasticity.
MEK1 is phosphorylated at serine 217 and serine 221 by Raf kinases, increasing MEK1 activity (Matallanas et al. 2011
) and subsequently leading to activation of ERK1/2.

- Antiserum to MEK 1 (pSer221) was raised by repeated immunization of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.

Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
