Rabbit anti EGF R (pSer1046) antibody
recognizes the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGF R), also known as proto-oncogene c-ErbB-1 or receptor tyrosine-protein kinase erbB-1, when phosphorylated at serine 1046. EGF R is a transmembrane glycoprotein and a member of the ErbB receptor tyrosine kinase family. EGFR is a cell surface receptor for members of the epidermal growth factor family.
EGF R plays a role in numerous cellular processes such as cell proliferation and apoptosis through the activation of downstream signaling pathways (Scaltriti and Baselga 2006
EGF R is autophosphorylated at serine 1046 and serine 1047 upon ligand binding and receptor dimerization. Phosphorylation of serine 1046 and serine 1047 plays an important role in EGF R desensitization (Sun et al. 2010
