Rabbit anti CREB1 antibody recognizes cyclin AMP-responsive element-binding protein 1, also known as CREB-1. It belongs to the family of transcription factors mediating gene expression in neuronal and non-neuronal cells (Lonze et al. 2002). CREB1 is activated in response to growth factor stimulation, electrical stimulation and synaptic activity (Shaywitz and Greenberg 1999). In mice, disruption of CREB1 function results in neurodegeneration (Mantamadiotis et al. 2002). CREB1 is overexpressed in gliomas and promotes gliomagenesis acting as a modulator of oncogenic microRNA-23a (Tan et al. 2012). CREB1, together with SETD2, contribute to cisplatin cytotoxicity regulating the ERK signalling pathway (Kim et al. 2018). |
