c-Jun (pThr91) antibody
c-Jun is a member of the Jun family of transcription factors and is a subunit of the AP-1 transcription factor. c-Jun dimerizes with c-Fos, JDP and ATF family members to form the AP-1 transcription factor. AP-1 is activated by a variety of stimuli including cytokines, stress and growth factors and plays a critical role in cellular processes ranging from proliferation to apoptosis.
Phosphorylation of c-Jun at threonines 91 and 93 is thought to result in a conformational change of c-Jun (Papavassiliou et al. 1995).
