Goat anti Human Apolipoprotein E antibody recognizes human apolipoprotein E (Apo-E) a protein produced in most organs and secreted into the plasma.

Apo-E mediates the binding, internalization, and catabolism of lipoprotein particles. It can serve as a ligand for the LDL (apo B/E) receptor and for the specific apo-E receptor (chylomicron remnant) of hepatic tissues.

Apolipoprotein E is the principle apolipoprotein in the central nervous system and has been reported to be implicated in Alzheimer's disease.
