Rabbit anti amyloid precursor protein antibody recognises both intact APP and the 4kD Beta-amyloid peptides generated by the action of Beta and Gamma secretases.

Deposition of Beta-amyloid peptide in the brain is characteristic of Alzheimer's disease.

APP also inhibits Notch signaling through it’s interaction with NUMB (Roncarati et al. 2002).
