Rabbit anti AKT1 (pThr450) antibody recognizes AKT1, also known as RAC-alpha serine/threonine-protein kinase, protein kinase B alpha or Proto-oncogene c-Akt, when phosphorylated at threonine 450. AKT1 is a 480 amino acid ~48 kDa protein kinase that play a key role in the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway, known to regulate cell growth, proliferation and survival. Phosphorylation of threonine 308 and serine 473 are required for full activation of AKT1. Newly synthesized Akt is suggested to require phosphorylation at threonine 450 for proper protein folding (Liao and Hung 2010).
