Sheep anti benzodiazepines antibody reacts with Oxazepam and reacts with related benzodiazepines; Desmethyldiazepam, Lorazepam and Diazepam.
Benzodiazepines are a family of anti-anxiety drugs that act by depressing the reticular activating system (RAS) in the brain stem that controls the level of mental activity by stimulating higher centres of the brain. This is achieved by increasing the inhibitory affect of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) on the brain cells thus preventing excessive activity.
