Mouse anti Human beta arrestin-1 antibody, clone 25-G10 recognises beta arrestin-1. Beta arrestin-1 is a 418 amino acid ~55 kDa member of the arrestin family, which was originally characterised as a protein involved in mediating the desensitization of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCR) by endocytosis. However, more recent studies suggest a wider regulatory role for beta arrestins in chemotaxis, cellular migration and metastasis.

Beta arrestin-1 is predominantly expressed in neuronal tissues and the spleen. In resting cells, beta arrestin-1 is mainly located in the cytosol but translocates to the membrane as a result of GPCR receptor phosphorylation.

Mouse anti Human beta arrestin-1 antibody, clone 25-G10 does not cross react with beta arrestin-2.
