Mouse anti Rat reticulum cells antibody, clone ED11 recognizes reticular elements in the T cell areas and B cell follicles of spleen, lymph nodes, Peyers patches, bronchus and gut associated lymphoid tissues (BALT and GALT). In the thymus a reticular pattern is observed throughout the cortex capsule, the medulla is negative. In non-lymphoid organs positivity is seen only in reticular elements of the small intestine. No staining of liver, lung, skin, kidney, brain, pancreas or heart is seen.

Biochemical analysis has revealed that Mouse anti Rat reticulum cells antibody, clone ED11 recognises complement factor C3. In vivo studies have shown that Mouse anti Rat reticulum cells antibody, clone ED11 blocks immune complex trapping on follicular dendritic cells (Van den Berg et al. 1992).

This product should be stored undiluted.

Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.

  1. 1The epitope recognised by this antibody is reported to be sensitive to formaldehyde fixation and tissue processing. Bio-Rad recommends the use of acetone fixation for frozen sections.
Where this antibody has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the antibody for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
