Rat anti Mouse MHC Class II antibody, clone IBL-3/5 recognizes a monomorphic epitope on murine MHC Class II molecules., The major histocompatibility complex (MHC) is a cluster of genes that are important in the immune response to infections. In mice, this complex is referred to as the histocompatibility 2 (H-2) region.

MHC class II molecules are expressed by dendritic cells, B-cells and macrophages.

Rat anti Mouse MHC Class II antibody, clone IBL-3/5 induces homotypic clustering of B cells in vitro (Balogh 1995 In 9th International Congress of Immunology, Abstract book p. 72. No. 422).

Storage Information

This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.

Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.

Applications of MHC Class II antibody

This product has been reported to work in the following applications. This information is derived from testing within our laboratories, peer-reviewed publications or personal communications from the originators. Please refer to references indicated for further information. For general protocol recommendations, please visit the antibody protocols page.
Application Name Verified Min Dilution Max Dilution
Flow Cytometry 1/5
Immunohistology - Frozen 1 Neat
Immunohistology - Paraffin
Immunohistology - Resin
Western Blotting
  1. 1The epitope recognised by this antibody is reported to be sensitive to formaldehyde fixation and tissue processing. Bio-Rad recommends the use of acetone fixation for frozen sections.
Where this antibody has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the antibody for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Flow Cytometry
Use 50ul of the suggested working dilution to label 105 cells in 100ul.
