Rat anti Mouse CD71 antibody, clone ER-MP21 recognizes murine CD71, a ~200 kDa antigen, otherwise known as the transferrin receptor. CD71 is expressed by all proliferating cell populations and exists as a homodimer at the cell surface.

Rat anti Mouse CD71 antibody, clone ER-MP21 inhibits iron uptake and cell proliferation but does not compete with transferrin for binding to its receptor, which suggests that clone ER-MP21 binds to an epitope that is different from the transferrin-binding site (Leenen et al. 1990).
