Unconventional Myosin 6 antibody | CD02/3A9
Unconventional Myosin 6 is an actin-based motor protein which moves cargo towards the minus end of actin filaments, in the opposite direction to every other myosin. Due to its unique function, and its role in a wide variety of cellular processes including endocytosis, polarized secretion, and autophagy (Masters et al. 2017). Unconventional Myosin 6 upregulation is a hallmark of various cancer types, is critical for maintaining malignant properties, and contributes to tumor cell migration and metastasis (Lei et al. 2017). The loss or overexpression of Unconventional Myosin 6 is also associated with neurodegenerative diseases, cardiomyopathy, deafness, and other pathologies (de Jonge et al. 2019).
