Rabbit anti TTF1 antibody recognizes homeobox protein Nkx-2.1, also known as NKX2-1 and thyroid transcription factor 1 (TTF1).

TTF1 is a homeobox-containing transcription factor expressed during embryonic development of the thyroid, respiratory epithelium, and diencephalon. Expression of TTF1 in normal tissues is restricted to the thyroid and pulmonary epithelium, but the gene can be overexpressed in thyroid tumors and pulmonary neoplasms (Aversa and Bellan 2018). As such, TTF1 is used alongside GATA3 to distinguish primary lung adenocarcinoma from metastatic bladder cancer (Zhao et al. 2019). TTF1 appears to have dual roles in cancer cell survival and progression (Huang et al. 2017).
