Mouse anti RBM8A antibody recognizes RNA-binding protein 8A, also known as ribonucleoprotein RBM8A and Y14.

RBM8A binds to RNA and controls a diverse range of functions including gene expression, cell cycle progression, apoptosis and RNA splicing. This regulation is acheived by employing cancer-related kinases, miRNAs and the E2F1 transcription factor (Lin et al. 2019). Loss of RBM8A leads to increased apoptosis and inhibits cell proliferation. RBM8A is overexpressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tissues, and is associated with poor prognosis in patients with HCC (Liang et al. 2017). A role for RBM8A has been suggested in neurodevelopment, and implicated in risk of autism and schizophrenia (Zou et al. 2015). Furthermore, in mice, overexpression of RBM8A led to increased anxiety-like behavior and abnormal social behavior (Alachkar et al. 2013).
