Mouse anti PSMA7 antibody recognizes proteasome subunit alpha type-7, also known as XAPC7 and HSPC. PSMA7 is a multifunctional protein which forms a subunit of the 20S proteasome core complex, playing a role in degradation of proteins through the ubituitin-proteasome pathway (Xia et al. 2019). The gene encoding PSMA7 is involved with inflammation and immunity, and is associated with major depressive disorder and reduction of patient responses to some drugs. It has also been identified as a biomarker for colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) (Zheng et al. 2017). PSMA7 is involved with the development and progression of several types of malignancy, and interacts with several proteins involved in tumorigenesis including HIF1-alpha (Xia et al. 2019). In colorectal cancer, PSMA7 forms a complex with NOD1 which may promote cancer progression, and PSMA7 has been suggested as a potential target for tumors that are caused by NOD1 dysfunction (Yang et al. 2013). |
