Prostate Specific Antigen antibody | 58.10D6
Mouse anti Human prostate specific antigen antibody, clone 58.10D6 recognizes prostate specific antigen (PSA), also known as Gamma-seminoprotein, Seminin, Kallikrein-3, P-30 antigen or Semenogelase. PSA is a 227 amino acid ~34 kDa secreted glycoprotein and member of the Kallikrein subfamily in seminal plasma. PSA hydrolyses the seminal vesicle protein, semenogelin-1, which causes the liquefaction of the seminal coagulum. Tumour cell migration is promoted by PSA, furthering the progression of prostate cancer. Latent TGFbeta2 is activated in a process involving PSA, which may contribute to the formation of osteoblastic lesions in bone metastatic prostate cancer. Serum levels of PSA are important in the diagnosis and monitoring of prostatic carcinoma. In addition, levels of PSA in nipple aspirate fluid maybe useful in breast cancer detection.
