Mouse anti NF kappa B inhibitor alpha antibody, clone 6A055, recognizes NF kappa B inhibitor alpha also known as I-kappa-B-alpha (IkB-alpha) and major histocompatibility complex enhancer-binding protein MAD3. NF kappa B inhibitor alpha is one of seven members of the IkB class of inhibitor proteins that have been identified to date. NF kappa B inhibitor alpha inhibits the NF kappa B complex in unstimulated cells through non-covalent binding. Following stimulation of cells, NF kappa B inhibitor alpha is phosphorylated so that it dissociates from NF kappa B and is then ubiquinated prior to degradation.
