Mouse anti Human Mesothelin, clone K1, recongnizes a 40kDa GPI-anchored cell surface glycoprotein also known as CAK1. Mesothelin is a differentiation antigen present on normal mesothelial cells and overexpressed in several human tumors, including mesothelioma; ovarian and pancreatic adenocarcinoma. Mesothelin is attached to the cell membrane by a glycosylphosphatidyl inositol linkage and a 31-kDa shed fragment named megakaryocyte-potentiating factor (MPF).
Clone K1 antibody has been used to differentiate between epithelial malignant mesothelioma and lung adenocarcinomas by immunohistology.
