Mouse anti Human IgD (Fc) antibody, clone LE2 recognizes an epitope located in the Fc region the heavy chain of human immunoglobulin D (IgD). Human IgD existst in two forms, the major membrane bound form which is co-expressed with IgM on the surface of mature B-cells (Blattner et al. 1984) and a minor secreted form comprising about 0.25% total serum Ig (Rogentine et al. 1966). Membrane bound IgD bears predominantly the κ light chain whereas the secreted form has predominantly λ light chains (Preud'homme et al. 2000)
