Mouse anti Human HMB45 antibody, clone HMB-45 recognizes the HMB-45 antigen, an intracytoplasmic antigen expressed by the majority of melanomas and with other tumors demonstrating melanocytic differentiation. tumors of lymphoid, epithelial, glial and mesenchymal origin are negative.

Normal adult melanocytes do not label with this antibody, although fetal and neonatal melanocytes stain variably.
