Mouse anti CTBP2 antibody recognizes c-terminal-binding protein 2.

CTBP2 is a transcriptional corepressor and modulator of a range of cellular processes. This protein is able to induce the epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT), and can bind to beta catenin and regulate Wnt signaling. CTBP2 is also able to affect cell migration by at least two mechanisms (Paliwal et al. 2012). CTBP2 can inhibit tumor suppressor activity and apoptosis, and is overexpressed in a variety of cancers including prostate cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and ovarian cancer (Dai et al. 2017). CTBP2 has been suggested as a potential biomarker for tumorigenesis, and could be a prognostic indicator of prostate cancer (Zhang et al. 2015).
