Mouse anti Human chymotrypsin antibody, clone 4E1 recognizes human chymotrypsin-C, also known as chymotrypsin or caldecrin. Chymotrypsin is a 239 amino acid ~30 kDa protease with an additional 13 amino acid propeptide region and a 16 amino acid signal peptide. Variations in the CTRC gene has been associated with susceptibility to hereditary, pancreatitis (PCTT), a disease characterized by pancreatic inflammation and destruction of the parenchyma (Beer et al. 2013). |
