Mouse anti CDC34 antibody recognizes ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 R1, also known as UBCH3, UBE2R1.

CDC34 is an E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme involved with ubiquitin signaling, one of the main mechanisms of reversible post-translational modification of proteins (Williams et al. 2019). CDC34 plays a role in cell cycle progression by facilitating degradation of several cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors (Zhang and Sun 2020). Furthermore, CDC34 also controls cell cycle progression at G1 by mediating degradation of p27KIP1 (Han et al. 2018). Overexpression of CDC34 has been identified in several human cancers. Its overexpression has been shown to promote growth and survival of lung cancer cells, whereas its knockdown inhibited these processes. In patients, CDC34 overexpression appears to correlate with worse prognosis (Zhang and Sun 2020).
