| Mouse anti Human CD45RA antibody, clone HI100 recognizes the human CD45RA cell surface antigen, the 220 kDa exon 4 splice variant of the leukocyte common antigen, also known as CD45, LCA or receptor-type tyrosine-protein phosphatase C. CD45 is a single pass type I transmembrane glycoprotein with two fibronectin type III domains and two tyrosine-protein phosphatase domains (UniProt: P08575). CD45RA is expressed by a subset of T lymphocytes, B lymphocytes and most monocytes. Mutations in the CD45 gene can lead to severe combined immunodeficiency disease characterized by a complete lack of the T cell mediated immune response (Tchilian et al. 2001) and a susceptibility for the development of multiple sclerosos (Jacobsen et al. 2000). |
