| Rabbit anti BOB-1 antibody recognizes POU domain class 2-associating factor 1 (POU2AF1), also known as B-cell-specific coactivator OBF-1 and BOB-1. BOB-1 is a lymphocyte-specific transcriptional regulator which interacts with transcription factors Oct1 and Oct2 to enhance octamer-dependent transcription (Levels et al. 2019). BOB-1 expression depends on lymphocyte type, B cells show constitutive expression whereas expression is inducible in T cells following costimulation. Mice without BOB-1 lack germinal centres and have a range of defects in B-cell development (Boehm et al. 2001). BOB1 is used to differentiate classical Hodgkin's lymphoma (BOB1 negative) from primary mediastinal large B-cell lymphoma (positive) (Hoeller et al. 2010). |
