    • Rabbit anti Human Wilms Tumor 1 antibody recognises Wilms Tumor 1, also known asWT1 or WT33. WT1 is a 449 amino acid transcription factor that plays an important role in cellular development, in particular the development of the urogenital system, additionally WT1 functions in both the role of a tumor suppressor and in an oncogenic manner in tumor formation.

Defects in the the WT1 gene result in a range of disease states including Frasier syndrome (FS) characterised by progressive nephropathy, male pseudohermaphroditism with no Wils tumor (Kohsaka et al. 1999), Wilms Tumour 1 (WT1) an embryonal renal malignancy (Little et al. 1992)

and Denys-Drash syndrome (DDS) and autosomal dominant nephropathy with genital abnormalities with or without Wils tumor (Baird et al. 1992)

WT1 is expressed in the Kidney and a subset of haematopietic cells. Multiple isoforms of WT1 have so far been recognised. Rabbit anti Human Wilms Tumor 1 antibody is expected to recognize the canonical isoform 1 and other isoforms with a normally presented C-terminal region.
