    • Rabbit anti Human VDAC1 antibody recognises human Voltage-Dependent Anion Channel 1 (VDAC1), a 30.8 kDa protein involved with membrane permeability.

VDAC1 forms channels through both the mitochondrial outer membrane and the plasma membrane. Channels formed in the mitochondrial outer membrane allow diffusion of small hydrophobic molecules, while channels in the plasma membrane are connected with cell volume regulation and apoptosis.
    • Intended Use
    • Target Species
      Human
    • Product Form
      Purified IgG - liquid
    • Reconstitution
    • Preparation
    • Antiserum Preparation
Antiserum to human VDAC was raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
    • Preservative Stabilisers
      0.09% Sodium Azide (NaN3)
    • Immunogen
A synthetic peptide corresponding to aa 185-197 of Human VDAC1.
