Rabbit anti de-tyrosinated alpha tubulin anibody (strong>OBT1660) evaluation of de-tyrosinated tubluin expression in cell lysates representing different breast cancer subtypes by western blotting.
Image caption:
The tumor suppressive function of RARRES1 is not related to AXL expression or tubulin tyrosination.
RARRES1 knockdown cells in MDA-MB-231, MDA-MB-468, and HCC1937 cells were examined for A. AXL expression; and B. detyrosinated tubulin via western blot. C. MDA-MB-231 and MDA-MB-468 scramble control and RARRES shRNA-bearing cells were treated with varying amounts of paclitaxel and the IC50 was determined.

    • Rabbit anti Human Tubulin (Detyrosinated) antibody recognizes the de-tyrosinated form of the tubulin alpha chain, also known as Glu tubulin.

De-tyrosination of alpha tubulin is associated with, but does not in itself confer stability of microtubules (Khawaja et al. 1988). Following de-tyrosination, a reversible process, alpha tubulin may be irreversibly further modified with the removal of the penultimate glutamate residue to form Δ2-tubulin which may further promote the stability of microtubules such as those found in neurons which demonstrate high levels of &Delta2-tubulin expression (Paturle-Lafanechère, L. et al. 1994)
