Goat anti Human transglutaminase 2 antibody recognizes human Protein-glutamine gamma-glutamyltransferase 2, also known as Transglutaminase 2 (TGM2), or tissue Transglutaminase (tTG). TGM2 is a 687 amino acid member of the Transglutaminase family. It is a ubiquitously expressed calcium-dependent enzyme, with GTPase activity, which catalyzes protein cross-linking and the conjugation of polyamines to proteins.

TGM2 has been implicated in several processes, including apoptosis (Hseih et al. 2013), the regulation of cytoskeletal structure, cell-matrix adhesion, cell migration, and wound healing (Fesus and Piacentini 2002). Antibodies against tTG are apparent in a high majority of patients with the autoimmune condition known as celiac disease, resulting in sensitivity to gluten (Gelderman et al. 2014). Three isoforms of TGM2 generated by alternative splicing exist. Goat anti Human transglutaminase 2 antibody is generated against a peptide spanning amino acid residues 667-680 of isoform 1. It does not recognize the other isoforms having carboxy-terminal deletions.

This product is shipped at ambient temperature. It is recommended to aliquot and store at -20°C on receipt. When thawed, aliquot the sample as needed. Keep aliquots at 2-8°C for short term use (up to 4 weeks) and store the remaining aliquots at -20°C.

Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.

This product has been reported to work in the following applications.
