    • Rabbit anti Human TIMP-1 antibody specifically recognizes human TIMP-1 (Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinase -1), a secreted glycoprotein and member of the protease inhibitor I35 (TIMP) family, which is expressed by a wide range of cells, including microvascular endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells, mesangial cells, and some fibroblasts. TIMP-1 acts as a natural extracellular inhibitor of MMPs (matrix metalloproteinases), a group of peptidases involved in degradation of the extracellular matrix, and is also involved in erythropoiesis, through the simulation of the proliferation/differentiation of erythroid progenitors. Studies have shown that a correlation between localized concentrations of TIMP-1 and TIMP-3, may determine cell fate, and that increased expression of TIMP-1, may act as an inhibitor/suppressor of invasive cell growth.

    • Reconstitution
Reconstitute with 0.5ml sterile PBS containing 0.1% bovine serum albumin
Care should be taken during reconstitution as the protein may appear as a film at the bottom of the vial. Bio-Rad recommend that the vial is gently mixed after reconstitution. For long term storage the addition of 0.09% sodium azide is recommended.

Prior to reconstitution store at +4oC.
      After reconstitution store at -20oC.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
