    • Mouse anti Human RUNX1 antibody, clone 4E7 recognizes human Runt-related transcription factor 1, also known by it's gene name RUNX1.or as Core-binding factor subunit alpha-2, Acute myeloid leukemia 1 protein, Oncogene AML-1, Polyomavirus enhancer-binding protein 2 alpha B subunit or SL3/AKV core-binding factor alpha B subunit. RUNX1 is a 453 amino acid ~50-55kDa nuclear protein bearing a single Runt domain, responsible for DNA-binding and protein-protein interaction. Eleven isoforms of RUNX1 have been described, generated by alternative splicing. Due to sequence similarity Mouse anti Human RUNX1 antibody, clone 4E7 is expected to recognize isoforms 1,2,8,9,10 and 11 which all contiain the antibody immunogen sequence (UniProt:: Q01196).

      RuNX1 chromosomal abberations have been repeatedly implicated in myeloid and lymphoid leukemias (Nucifora and Rowley 1995, Romana et al. 1995, Song et al. 1999). Runx1 has also been indicated as a potential prognostic marker for patients with triple negative breast cancer (Ferrari et al. 2014). Although the role of RUNX1 as a leukemogenic suppressor is widely established and peturbation of expression, either through fusion with other gene products in chromosome translocations or mutation of the Runx1 gene recognized as a major cause of progression to a leukemia phenotype, the role of RUNX1 in development of epithelial carcinogenesis is less well explored, but is emerging as of maajor importance in other cancers, including cancer of the breast (Banerji et al. 2012), gastro-intestinal carcinomas (Dulak et al. 2012) and potentially pancreatic adenocarcinoma (Birnbaum et al. 2011). Runx1 acts as a downstream effector of Notch signaling in hematopoietic stem cell induction (Burns et al. 2005) .

      Mouse anti Human RUNX1 antibody, clone 4E7 has been successfully employed for the identification of RUNX1 protein by immunohistochemistry on formalin fixed, paraffin embedded material, by immunofluorescsnce and by western blotting.
