    • Rat anti Human RAF-1 (pSer338) antibody, clone pS338 recognizes activated human RAF proto-oncogene serine/threonine-protein kinase, also known as Raf-1 or c-RAF, binding to the phosphorylated serine residue at position 338.

Rat anti Human RAF-1 (pSer338) antibody, clone pS338 binds to Raf-1 that has been activated by Ras or Src, but not to unactivated Raf-1. Rat anti Human RAF-1 (pSer338) antibody, clone pS338 does not bind to Raf peptides phosphorylated at other sites, including Y341 and S339.

Rat anti Human RAF-1 (pSer338) antibody, clone pS338 has been described for the detection of Ser338 phosphorylated RAF-1 by western blotting (Mason et al. 1999).

For the detection of phosphoproteins, serine phosphatase inhibitors such as 10mM Sodium Fluoride should be added to the sample buffer. Milk or other casein-based blocking solutions are not recommended as casein is a phosphoprotein and its use can result in high background.

    • Where this antibody has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. It is recommended that the user titrates the antibody for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
