Western blot analysis of Jurkat cell lysate using Rabbit anti PUMA antibody at 1/125 using STAR208P as a secondary antibody at 1/10000 and visualized with the Bio-Rad ChemiDoc system. The antibody recognizes a band of approximately 20 kDa. Bio-Rad Precision Plus molecular weight markers were run in lanes 1 and 3. STAR208P was run in lane 4 without the primary antibody as a negative control

    • Rabbit anti PUMA antibody recognizes PUMA (p53 upregulated modulator of apoptosis) also known as Bcl-2-binding component 3 or JFY-1. As the name implies PUMA is a member of the Bcl-2 homology 3 (BH3)-only protein family whose expression is regulated by the well characterized p53 tumor suppressor protein. In response to stress and DNA damage, p53 binding results in PUMA transcription. PUMA acts as an apoptosis trigger via mitochondrial signaling and interaction with Bcl-xL, Bc-2 and other antiapoptotic proteins.
PUMA has been identified as a promising target for cancer therapies.
