Recombinant Human PDGF BB homodimer is an E. coli-derived recombinant protein corresponding to mature full-length human Platelet-Derived Growth Factor BB homodimer (PDGF-BB), a potent mitogen for cells of mesenchymal origin. PDGF is composed of a dimer of two chains, known as the A chain and B chain. The dimer may present as either AA or BB homodimer, or as an AB heterodimer.

Recombinant Human PDGF BB homodimer (PHP036) has an ED50 of 1.0-3.0 ng/ml as determined by stimulation of the proliferation of Balb/c 3T3 cells.

Target Species
Human
Product Form
Purified recombinant protein - lyophilized
Reconstitution
Reconstitute with 0.1ml distilled water.
Care should be taken during reconstitution as the protein may appear as a film at the bottom of the vial. Bio-Rad recommend that the vial is gently mixed after reconstitution. After the initial reconstitution step, the product should be diluted to a working concentration using an aqueous buffer containg 0.1% BSA (or any albumin), or diluted in culture media containing serum, such as FCS.

This product should be stored undiluted.

Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the protein. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
