Neurotrophin-4 (NT-4) is a 28 kDa neurotrophic factor and member of the cysteine knot family of growth factors, which signals via LNGFR and trkB receptors and is involved in the control, survival and differentiation of peripheral sensory sympathetic neurons. Bronchial eosinophils, activated by NT-4, may be involved in the regulation of eosinophilic inflammation in allergic asthma. NT-4 influences airway smooth muscle intracellular Ca2+ concentration which may play a role in airway disease.
Expression of NT-4 occurs in embryonic and adult tissues. The highest levels are found in the prostate with lower levels in thymus, placenta, and skeletal muscle.

Reconstitute with 100ul distilled water Care should be taken during reconstitution as the protein may appear as a film at the bottom of the vial. Bio-Rad recommend that the vial is gently mixed after reconstitution.

Determined by the dose-dependent induction of choline acetyl transferase activity in rat basal forebrain primary septal cell cultures was found to be in the range of 20-50ng/ml.

Prior to reconstitution store at +4oC. After reconstitution store at -20oC only. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the protein. This product should be stored undiluted. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
