Goat anti Human MCM4 antibody recognizes DNA replication licensing factor MCM4, also known as human minichromosome maintenance 4 (MCM4) or CDC21 homolog. Human MCM4 is an 863 amino acid, ~95kDa nuclear component of the MCM complex containing a single MCM domain.
MCM4 is involved in the initiation and control of eukaryotic DNA replication. Studies show that MCM4 forms a hexameric protein complex with MCM6 and 7, which has DNA helicase activity, and may act as a DNA unwinding enzyme (Kanter et al. 2008). The phosphorylation of MCM4 by CDC2 kinase reduces the DNA helicase activity and chromatin binding of the MCM complex (Ishimi and Komamura-Kohno 2001).

Reagents In The Kit
Preparing The Antibody
TRIS-citrate/Phosphate buffered saline
Store at +4oC. DO NOT FREEZE. This product should be stored undiluted. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
This product has been reported to work in the following applications. This information is derived from testing within our laboratories, peer-reviewed publications or personal communications from the originators. Please refer to references indicated for further information. For general protocol recommendations, please visit the antibody protocols page.
Immunohistology - Paraffin(1)
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is required prior to staining paraffin sections with this antibody. Bio-Rad recommend citrate buffer, pH6.0, for this purpose.
Where this antibody has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the antibody for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
