Recombinant human FGF8 is an E. coli-derived protein corresponding to amino acids 23-215 of human fibroblast growth factor 8. FGF8 is a secreted peptide that promotes cell growth in an autocrine manner.
The peptide sequence contains an initiator methionine at the N-terminus and is homologous to the murine, canine and bovine sequences.
PHP130 has an ED50 of <0.5ng/ml as determined by dose-dependent thymidine uptake in BaF3 cells expressing FGF receptors.
Purified recombinant protein - lyophilised
Reconstitute with 0.25ml distilled water. Care should be taken during reconstitution as the protein may appear as a film at the bottom of the vial. Bio-Rad recommend that the vial is gently mixed after reconstitution. For extended storage, the addition of 0.1% Bovine Serum Albumin is recommended.
