Recombinant Human BMP-7 is a 28.8 kDa recombinant protein corresponding to amino acid residues 316 to 431 of the full-length human bone morphogenetic protein 7 (BMP-7) precursor.
BMP-7, also known as Osteogenic protein 1 (OP-1), is a disulphide-linked homodimeric cysteine knot protein and one of a growing number of osteogenic proteins shown to induce bone and cartilage formation and to play an important role in developmental processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis and morphogenesis.
Purified recombinant protein - lyophilised
Reconstitute with 0.1ml distilled water. Care should be taken during reconstitution as the protein may appear as a film at the bottom of the vial. Bio-Rad recommend that the vial is gently mixed after reconstitution.

Determined by its ability to induce alkaline phosphatase production by ATDC-5 cells. The expected ED50 for this effect is 0.02-0.04 ug/ml.

Prior to reconstitution store at +4oC. After reconstitution store at -20oC. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the protein. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
