Antibody Lyophilization Service

Antibody Lyophilization Service (freeze drying)

Freeze drying antibodies can prolong the shelf-life and improve the temperature stability, by removing the water content and sealing the material in a vial.  The freeze-dried antibodies can be easily stored and later reconstituted to the original form. This process is especially recommended for those antibodies conjugated with R-Phycoerythrin (RPE) and Allophycocyanin (APC) fluorescent dyes.

Our team of experts will be happy to offer advice about suitable free-drying conditions for your project. The service is available as a standalone process or as part of the custom antibody production, purification or conjugation projects.

Instruction for freeze-dried antibody reconstitution:

  1. Add deionized or distilled water to the lyophilized products and mix gently by inverting the vial several times.
  2. It may take a few minutes for the lyophilized product to completely dissolve. If any insoluble precipitate still remains, it can be removed by centrifugation at 3000 rpm or higher for 10-15 min.  Transfer the supernatant to a fresh tube.
  3. Reconstitute to a final antibody concentration according to your applications or the recommended concentration on the data sheet.
  4. Addition of a preservative is recommended after reconstitution.
